The Ministry of Commerce responded to the sampling results of the EU anti-subsidy investigation on electric vehicles in China: non-compliance, opacity and injustice
In response to the recent announcement of the EU investigation agency anti-subsidy investigation on China's electric vehicles sampling results,Ministry of Commerce spokesman He Yadong responded on the 16th,China has noted,The European Commission is in the midst of an anti-subsidy investigation into electric vehicles in China,The representative criterion of maximum export volume was not adopted,Only 3 Chinese local enterprises were selected as sample enterprises。The European Commission's sampling standards are not compliant, the sampling process is not transparent, the sampling results are unfair, and the relevant practices are suspected of violating WTO rules and EU laws, which is a discriminatory choice against Chinese electric vehicle companies and will seriously distort the results of the subsidy investigation。
He Yadong made the above response at a regular press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce on the same day。He further said that the European Commission excluded EU member States with the highest production and sales in the sample of EU industries。This practice is against the norm, and the sampling results simply cannot represent the objective situation of the industry in the league。The European Commission launched its own anti-subsidy investigation in the face of clear opposition from the industry within the Union, falsely claiming that Chinese electric vehicles threaten to harm the EU electric vehicle industry, completely ignoring the close cooperation between the Chinese and European automotive industries。
He Yadong said that the Chinese industry is strongly disappointed and dissatisfied with the European Commission's practice of presetting the investigation results and operating behind closed doors。China urges the EU side to strictly abide by WTO rules and EU laws, correct its wrong practices as soon as possible, ensure the investigation is open, fair, fair and compliant, and fully protect the legitimate rights and interests of relevant companies。
